In his remarks at the workshop, Dr. Bui Phuong Dinh emphasized that the workshop’s theme “Capacity building capitalizing on staff and students experiences in mobility” was particularly relevant and practical for higher education institutions. He noted that each exchange program represents an opportunity to build institutional capacity, contributing toward meeting international standards for higher education institutions. The insights shared during the workshop are highly valuable and necessary for STRIVE project partners to leverage strengths, foster cooperation, and effectively implement future initiatives.

As the lead institution responsible for developing a new project proposal, and following the outcomes of the training workshop held in Portugal in March, the leaders of APAG has encouraged several experienced lecturers and staff – those working in tourism education, project planning and finance, information technology—to engage in developing specialized content, leveraging collective intelligence and creativity. This reflects one of the key strategies prioritized by the APAG leadership: promoting internationalization at the level of each faculty/department and each individual. By expanding opportunities and creating experiential conditions for both individuals and collectives, the capacity of staff and units is enhanced, forming a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the APAG’s overall institutional capacity.

During the workshop, APAG and Tuscia University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation in academic exchange activities, including faculty and student exchange programs funded by the European Union, while also expanding the network of higher education institutions in Viet Nam and internationally.

As part of the APAG’s activities in Italy, the delegation also held meetings and discussions with UNINT (University of International Studies of Rome) and Venice University to explore and promote future cooperation, aiming to build and expand a new network of partnerships.

The STRIVE Project (2024–2027) aims to enhance the capacity for internationalization and modernize international cooperation in Vietnamese universities. At the same time, the project promotes connectivity between higher education institutions in Europe and Viet Nam. STRIVE aligns with the goals of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program, offering Vietnamese universities greater access to opportunities supported by Erasmus+ cooperation funds.

After 18 months of project implementation, since January 2024, APAG has signed a Partnership Agreement with AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium (Italy), the international coordinator of the project; participated in the launch of the official STRIVE project website at https://strive-project.eu; contributed to the development and release of the project’s Quality Plan and Midterm Quality Report; led the development of a new project proposal on tourism governance; signed a cooperation agreement with Tuscia University, Italy.
